Well, the posting last week, and much thinking, I did buy the Janome 6600! Everything is still in boxes, as I am making myself repaint the sewing room before I set it up. I still don;t know what the little opening on the throat plate is. My dealer says it may be for additional equipment. I'm excited, and will keep you posted on the performance. Oh yes, I kept my Brother machine to take to classes..More to came Sherry McD

Congrats on your new machine. I'm so happy for you. I can't wait to see pics. You have such self control. I would have to open it up right away.

I'll bet that you will get that room painted in record time LOL You are a better woman than me. I would not be able to keep that sewing machine boxed up. Congrats, and post a picture of your newly decorated room okay?

What ya mean opening on the throat plate? Can you take a pic? I would be interested if this is something new or what as I have the 6600P and am not sure what you are talking about.

You will love your machine. It can handle anthing IMHO.

I must have missed something. Your dealer says the opening MAY ? be for additional equipment. He should KNOW what it is. Aside from that it sounds like you are going to be very happy with your machine. Congrats.

Congrats on your new machine - I bought one last year and have been enjoying it immensely. Happy painting, happy sewing,,, Happy Easter!

And now I gotta go down and look to see if I can spot that opening on the throat plate- I don't know right off what you might be referring to!
