I would like to spray my machines to make them a little more "slick". What should I buy and where should I get it? Thanks for any information

Got mine at walmart in the auto department. Spray it on a cloth to use it. Dont spray it directly on the machine. Its cheap and works great.

I read somewhere that you should not buy silicone spray in the auto parts dept.
Patsy Thompson recommends Sullivans spray. It's colorless, ordorless, non-greasy, etc.

I bought mine at Hancock's, larger can, smaller price than at JoAnn's. I spray on my "quilting" table and my machine, and WOW, what a difference it made for me. I wish I would have tried it years ago.

I will have to get some of this along with 505 basting spray for when I start to FMQ.

I never heard of this. Only time I ever used Silicone spray was when I had to stuff cushions. Trying to wiggle a foam cushion wrapped with dacron into a a sewn cushion cover is like wrestling a big dog into the bathtub....LOL

I started to wrap the cushion in a large plastic bag and sucking the air out with a shop vac and then putting it into a cover then shutting off the vacuum and working fast enough to get the corner set just right before it fully expands again.

I was taught to take a piece of "new" cloth, unwashed and polish the table. Worked for me. Had a new table that would not let the fabric slide. Have you ever looked at your nice white quilting gloves after machine quilting....not a pretty site...That's when I started washing my quilts before giving away. I think it is the dyes or sizing (finish) that "polishes". Cheap and no trip to town to get something else...Don't think I would spray anything on the new electronic machines...

I just use good old jublie wax on my table top and base of machine. It works great. you have to be sure to ploish it after applying the wax.
