Actually, I put the wrong word in there - after unscrewing the screw in the center knob, you would remove the center knob, not the handwheel. I should never try to be coherent before I've had enough coffee.
Hope you understood what I meant, anyway.
If you're just turning the washer, there's no need to remove the handwheel.
