13,920 Singer 221s were commissioned on December 9, 1948. Your machine was likely made in early 1949...

Is there anything else you wanted to know? :)

Yes, it is! Do you have any pictures of it?

Do you know about the Vintage Sewing Machine section on this forum? You can find out lots of information about your Featherweight.

Yes, there is a picture of it on Craig's list for st. Cloud, Minnesota on Sept. 29. I called her and will go look at it tomorrow and she said she would come down with the price. It was her mothers and she is in a nursing home and wants to get rid ot it. She says it runs, but don't know if there is a lot of attachment except the buttonholer and if there is a manual. I found a manual on the internet I can download if she doesn't have the manual.
Yes I did go to the sewing machine list on this board and read lots of things. It will help me decide if I want this machine.

Let us know. One day I hope to have a Featherweight. I remember my Mother sewing on one when I was growing up.

They are great little machines-I have two of them. And they make the sweetest little sound when they are running-o-and the stitch is so straight!!
