I use a Little dab of Elmers glue on the tip of my finger. Keeps the thimble on. When I am done with it I put it with my applique supplies which is always close by.

With my finger nails I never been able to use regular thimbles. I was using the leather thimbles until I found the leather dots and just love them. I have them stuck on my machine or in my plastic box that holds what ever project I'm working on. I also have a few on the tops of a few spools of thread. They stick to the spot on my finger I use the most and nothing gets unconformable. They are reusable many times over, one pack of 12 will last me well over a year. Also I don't have to remove them to grab anything, or get a sip of coffee.

I sure meant to explain that KK2000 is a temporary basting spray used in machine embroidery. Sorry 'bout that! Lol. Thank you Prism.. For adding that!

You can also line your thimble with a sliver of moleskin on part of your thimble. The moleskin sticks to the thimble wall and the soft "fur" is soft on your finger.

If I ever hand sew??? I use a leather thimble. My aunt bought it years ago for me. I have never had luck with the metal ones.
