Drove 47 miles one way to get the Gone With the Wind panel that had been on re-order to finish my fabric collection. This is the ONLY quilt store in Atlanta that even ordered GWTW fabric. You would think if you live in the South and in metro Atlanta, that other quilt stores would have ordered this special fabric. But noooooooo, had to go thru downtown on a Friday (scared it would be gone by Monday)! Gonna really enjoy petting my fabric!!

I bought those tan fat quarters I needed to complete the colors for my quilt, and four more clear plastic 12" square scrapbook organizers. I had bought 2 last week and found they are perfect to hold my WIP's. They were on half price sale at Michaels!

I found the parasol fabric and the background fabric. And ordered them right away. So now all I have to do is finish the learners quilt I'm working on Make a quilt frame and then I can start on the geisha. Man what a plan. I can't believe I'm doing all of this.

I went to the Ben Franklin in Sandpoint, ID and picked up a piece of fabric to make one of the Quilts for Kids.org for Downey. Cutest fabric, for a girl. It has all kinds of aprons on it, and I am going to use the royal blue and red for the 4 patch. Will be so cute when done. Then yesterday, I went to Joann's and used my 50% off coupon and bought a ruler for a gift to a friend, and picked up a 30% off yard of fabric with the baseballs on it for the border on another Downey quilt I am doing. Was going to use the same fabric for the border, but they had the baseball fabric with a red background, and the main fabric I used had a cream background. Am using a deep blue for the small border, so this will be really cute for a boy. Already have the backing fabric for both, in my stash, so less money spent there. Joanie

Hey Everyone, Weeks ago, JoAnn Fabrics had an ad in a flyer which came to my home featuring Warm n Natural. It appeared to me after reading it over several times, that they were offering 2 for the price of 1 Warm and Natural at $9.99. Honestly, it looked like that to me. The store manager wouldn't honor the coupon. Stubborn sort. So, I came home and wrote a letter to the CEO. Didn't receive an answer, so I sent the letter again, letting them know that I would be letting all of you know what happened.
I received a phone call from a Vice Pres.apologyzing for not responding. He was very courteous.
Today, I received a letter from the gentleman with a gift card for JoAnn for $30, which can be used at any store.
Surprise! one letter did bring about a result.

Yesterday, we (friend and I) went 55miles north to two shops and splurged. I got 6 yds of Aunt Grace for the stash, and we signed up for classes every month. Then, into town and the other store; bolts all over the place at 3.98 yd and 4.50 yd. RJR, Red Rooster, all name brands. Got more Aunt Grace. Stopped at regular lqs and bought about 15 yds. of batiks for the "Total Eclipse" Judy Niemeyer pattern. Am itching to start, but have to finish other quilt top first. Nice day out.
