What do you think?
My granddaughter wants a Hello Kitty quilt. I'm pretty much a newbie so I need a fairly simple pattern. I found some fabric that is red with black dots and Hello Kitty heads. How about 9 patches made from black and red and use the print for the sashing and border and bind it in black. What do you think? Any suggestions?

I say stretch your capabilities and try doing a bit of fusible applique and blanket stitch. Fusible applique is super easy and a newby could definitely do it. You can download coloring book pages of Hello Kitty.
The members here have come up with some absolutely adorable Hello Kitty quilts and I bet you can be inspired by them. Here is a search I did, look in the ones that were in the pictures forums for inspiration:

I would suggest that you check into the pattern called Warm Wishes. It is a much used charity quilt pattern, very simple and the best is that is if found FREE on Quiltmaker's website. Good Luck !!
