Smile Need Your Assistance on Large Block Quilt

I really need your input. I have to make a quilt with two colors and because my time is limited, I need a big block quilt that is not plain. What quilt designs would suggest for a two color quilt. Thanks in advance for taking the time to share with me.

Have a wonderful evening.

My newest favorite 'go to' simple , super fast block is that '10 minute block' I'd bet that would look fantastic in 2 colors! I hope you don't mind if I steal your idea.

Look in (www.quilterscache.com) at their 12" blocks. They're many blocks that would look good in only two colors. You might even do a sampler quilt (each block is different but they're the same size and same fabric).

I would look for a simple 10" block on Quilter's Cache and just double it either in size or by combining 4 blocks. Hunter's Star comes to mind.

Hunter's Star was what I was going to suggest - love that block.

If you're up for buying a book, I have one called Jelly Roll Sampler Quilts by Pam and Nicky Lintott. There are a number of 12 inch blocks but also some great ones that are 16 inches!

Or, piece a Log Cabin the way Eleanor Burns shows in her first Quilt in a Day book. With 2.5" strips I pieced 24 14-inch blocks in most of one day.

I love the quilt on the cover of this book by Nicole Chambers. http://www.amazon.com/More-Simple-Qu...1033972&sr=8-4

On a different board, I saw a picture this morning of a neat 2 color/2 block quilt - 9 patch + snowball. Put together it is quite striking.

Scroll down to to the third picture on the blog to see how it came out in a two color scheme: http://ppebble.blogspot.com/2010/04/...-and-kids.html (not my blog, nor do I have an affiliation with them).

Cheers, K

Thank you to everyone for your response. I think the ten minute block is going to win.

Have a blessed holiday season.

Joyce,

That is a great idea. I did not think on that until now.
