My guess is that they are for piecing and squaring up fans and Dresden plates. You could also trace around them to mark quilting lines.

A bit like 'what can you see in those clouds - or ink blob'. I can imagine using them for odd shaped New York Beauty blocks.
But no, haven't seen them before.

They are angles. Maybe for making triangles? I'd just use them any way that makes sense to you.

Any finished shape based on circular segments. Dresden plate as an example.

I have a set, but I've never used them and really don't know what they are for. Mine are joined together with a bead/ball chain. I've had them for 30+ years, just used them for a decoration in the sewing room. Hope someone can enlighten us!!!

I was doing a project for my mother and ran across these templates. They are used for scallops.

Your tools might be to make scallops as mentioned above and made by the ARDCO company. But I would like to mention that a fiber artist named Cheryl Phillips of Delta, Colorado has developed and marketed templates based on these angles for quilt making. She has written books and does workshops with her templates and patterns. She does a beautiful trunk show as a part of her presentation. The books are readily available. Just for fun, google her and check out her website.

As a former math teacher...here is my guess. A circle is based on 360 degrees and these temples are all parts of a complete circle. There would be three 120 templates to equal 360. There would be four 90 templates to equal 360. There would be six 60 templates. There would be eight 45 templates to equal 360. There would be24 15 templates to equal 360. These parts could be traced..add on the seam allowance...then sewed together to make beautiful circles. This is one way I would use them!

Sewnoma, yes you are right bout the printing on the large template.
Mawluv, these were joined with the ball chain too. I just took them off to take the picture.
Maybe scallop edging is in my future. If not, they will join the rest of the gadgets that aren't used but at one time I thought they would be useful. LOL
