    I make my own binding.
I used bias binding years ago on other sewing items and found that after a few washes, sometimes it frayed.
Hopefully they make better quality bias binding than they used too.

If I understand the ebay description - the cut binding is 1.15 per yd. There is a chart indicating the number of yds needed for each size quilt. For a double or queen it is about 14 yds. and that is about 8 strips at 40" wide or 20 inches of fabric. If fabric is $9 per yd, then that is about 3/4 yd or $6 or so.
Now If I calculate correct. the equivalent of a yard of the cut binding is $16.56. Big difference.
Less expensive to learn to cut your own.

I always make my own binding. Using straight cuts of fabric it doesn't take that much time or fabric.
By making my own I can use the same fabric in the quilt.

I don't mind making the binding, I just don't like sewing in on by hand. I can sit and do hand applique for hours on end, but doing the hand sewing part of the binding drives me crazier than I already am. ;-)
If it is not a show quilt, I do it all by machine. I also don't do a bias binding unlesss the edges are curved.

I have made my own binding a few times but when I am busy I buy binding from one of my faverate discontinued fabric store and I can get yardage enough to go around the entire quilt. For smaller quilting projects I just go to Walmart and once our new joannes open up I will be buying from the new store.
