Whew! I feel such relief!!!!!

I spent the weekend tearing down my 1896 Singer treadle sewing machine and cleaning it. I am very excited about getting this one sewing because of the HUGE harp space it has. Anyway, as I tore it down I took pictures to make sure I could get it back together. I wiped down the shell of a machine and put it on a blanket to dry and proceeded to clean all the little tiny parts. There were a LOT of them. Dried them all off, made sure they were all clean and dry. I put them in a sour cream plastic container, put the lid on, and used permanent marker to write on the top. 1986 Treadle. Now, where to put it? I decided the best idea was to keep it with the machine. We left to attend a graduation party, then sewed for a while in the house. Next day, after work, I went to work cleaning up the irons and getting ready to make the table all pretty. All of a sudden I realized the plastic container of parts was not where I left it. For 3 hours, 3 of us hunted for that container. Yes, I checked the fridge. Twice. And the freezer, and the pond, and in the flower beds. Even in the house, where I had not even taken it. Maybe my oldtimers disease had gotten the best of me. Monday, DH cleaned house really good while I was at work. No luck. I hunted every spare moment. I was so obsessed with worry over loosing these parts I couldn't concentrate on anything else. DH went out to week whip around the pond and edges of the lawn this morning. He called me at 10 oclock. "Guess what I found?" Yes, he found it. The dog had buried it in the weeds surrounding our camper. I really didn't think she would touch it, besides she was only allowed free while I am out there with her, which was most of the day. Who would have thought she would touch that stuff smelling like kerosene. Well, if I could have kissed him through the phone DH would have gotten quite a shock. Just had to share!!
