I bought it on eBay after emailing to make sure all the parts are there, I saw some posts here about buying on eBay and machine arriving with bobbin case missing. It comes with the original 25 yr. warranty. It's refurbished. Often, that means someone opened the box, so it couldn't be sold as new.

It was only $69 and weighs 11 lbs. so I bought it to take to classes so I can leave my heavy Janome Embroidery machine at home. Also, I can set my Janome permanently into the counter instead of using my foam extension table.

Anyhow...... I saw at Costco reviews this machine got 5 stars most of the time. The worst were worried the plastic parts might break soon.

Do you know anything about it? Do you have one?

no, but I love my little brother. They are good little machines despite what some people say. I have the XL3500i , had it for about 5 years, and I love mine. If I hadn't gotten my espire I would use it more frequently, but I had a XL-3010 that I gave away after 10years, but it still worked great. I think those are just from people that sew like 8 hours a day as a job. but if you are just sewing a few hours a day it should last you a long time, and if it doesn't it wasn't that expensive. I don't expect a 1000 dollar machine to last me a lifetime. a 1000 dollar one yes but not a hundred dollar one

Yes, just sewing at home. I think it will work great for taking to classes. We are working on building a frame to mount my Janome in the counter.

That made no sense! I meant I am just a home sewer.

Thanks for answering Dolphyngyrl. btw I bought my Janome on ebay too. I paid $169. Originally sold for $3200. It's old in that case, but works well!
