Put deep purple in a boy baby quilt? I am making a newborn quilt out of brights and batiks for my daughter. What do you think?

Sure why not. I would use it as long as it goes with your other colors.

it just depends on how "purple" it is. if it is more bluey purple I think that it would be okay but more of a reddish purple I would shy away from. but that is because my hubby doesn't want any "girly" things in his sons stuff. hehe put it up with the other fabrics and we could tell you if it is to "girly" looking for a boy.

The colors are mostly primary and secondary,so that purple is a solid purple. I can't see any blues or reds in it because they look evenly proportionate. I am going to make a tossed nine patch and maybe applique some stars on it. Since I have never appliqued before, that should be interesting. :-)

Purple is the color of royalty how could that be a bad thing?
