Thinking about buying one like this
Found one on Craigs List but he wants too much and it is missing parts. I offered him $125 and may consider but I will need to buy the parts needed. If anyone owns one let me know what all came with the original machine. opinions needed!!!!!!

I have heard very good things about those machines. If he takes the $125 snatch it up quick!

what happened to all the feet they can be so expensive I would not offer much more due to that factor alone.

It is worth a lot more than $125. This is a highly collectible Bernina. As long as it is in working condition with the foot pedal (these can be expensive to replace -- over $100) and the red case (also expensive), $125 would be a super excellent price.

One thing I don't see is an attachable table. Assuming the machine came with it, this can be pricey to replace (again, over $100). Being me, I'd still get the machine. It's a workhorse and highly reliable. The feet are fairly easy to acquire on eBay. Yes, a little on the pricey side, but they come up often.

Both the machine and case appear to be in very good cosmetic condition. That makes the machine more valuable also.

    What parts are missing?

He is not asking too much. And to be honest at the price he's asking he's sure to sell it.

I have that exact machine that I bought 34 years ago. Still runs like a charm. Great machine.

My mother still has hers that she's had all my life (at least 39 years) and still uses it. I'd buy it in a heartbeat!! I learned to sew on that machine and it's a great one. It automatically adjusts tension which is worth it's weight in gold!

sad news went to see the machine and not in good working order
the feed dogs do not come up and the foot will not go all the way down
so even though he was willing to lower the price
I did not buy because unsure what it would cost to repair
back to looking for another one
