My favorite block is 'Shoo Fly', which I think is also called 'Churndash'. It has trianges in the corners. It's like a 9 patch. It's very old fashioned, and easy to make.

The second quilt on this site, the wonky one. If the points don't match exactly, no big deal, they're wonky!

Jacob's Ladder
Dresden Plate
Snowball Nine-Patch
Amish Diamond
Buckeye Beauty (super simple, but makes a lovely quilt)
Hole In The Barn Door (great for framing a focal fabric)
Octagon and Twist (has a couple of inset seams, but it's actually pretty easy to do)

And my latest favorite: Simply Woven. It looks so complicated, but is actually super-easy. It's all straight cuts and seams. No curves or triangles. Link: http://www.modabakeshop.com/2012/10/...ven-quilt.html

That's great! It always makes me feel good when people say that.

There are so many, but the most fun block for me was the disappearing 4patch. I made a Christmas table runner last year in half a day for a gift and it was so cute because the blocks all look like wrapped presents.

I love doing 8 pt and 6 pt stars but I really love Jacobs Ladder and Snails Trail as they never look quite the same. I just finished a Jacobs ladder in all batiks, I have had five offers on it already and haven't finished the binding on it. It will go to the highest bidder and I already have my batiks out to start another one. If they come up with their deposits, looks like I will be doing four more. Ugh, hate doing so many alike. Seems more like work!
