Kiffie -- I totally agree with you! Spiders are good luck! At least in Ireland they are! I never kill a spider ... always take it outside & hope it doesn't return! And everyone knows owls represent wisdom. I made my younger daughter an Amazon Rain Forest quilt. She did not take it with her to Iceland, so I still get to enjoy it! And, yes, it was a LOT of work! But worth every stitch! Hmmmm ... I like the idea of a rain forest destination .... but perhaps it's best not to burden anyone with that one!

It's -12 here, not taking into account the windchill factor.

o wow! I like those ideas, vitality & terriamn, the pliboard looks good, to hang like sissors and I can tthink of other thingsd to hang, is that an old computer/tv stand? or microwave stand?? I have a small space, I guess 9x12, so organization is my key wqord at the moment, Vitality I do like that storage spoace, I would have to stackmine 2x2 if I did it that way. anyway thanks for the iodeas. heres one, you see those hangers for slacks, about four together? well could use to put the extra yardage of material on, and hang them up, closet or where ever.

My my everyone is full of good ideas this morning : ) all but those spider tails. ugh. double ugh. heart attack here I am. They scare the living daylight out of me. I cant think. Cant hardly move. I see them am stuck on staring at them so they don't move and get away but I cant kill them. They might jump on me. Had one do that once. omg. it was a tiny thing but oh my God. no way no how. I even took an F in a project in biology one day because the teacher said he was bringing his T spider in not seven writing that word and everyone had to hold it or he was going to give them an F I said give it to me I aint going. I was an A+ student but nothing could convince me to show up for lab that day. nothing. so much for bullying people into handling their fears. Not this shy girl.

ok we are just days away from partners! it was suggested if you have a certain fabric and want to use that please let me know and I will try to pair you up with someone who loves what you have. ie if you have sand and water and want to do a beach one over a mountain one say. well .. share that. if you have bright lights and city scenes then share that WITH ME and so on. I will be dividing names for a century at that pace but its fine to say it if its all you have and you don't have much to chose from. but again, think abstract also. maybe you only have colors of places. use those. if you have items from places use those .. if you have a bunch to use then wait til you get your partner and see if they want your destination or theirs. then you can whip up something more custom. its ok. and also if you really don't want to do that then just wait maybe someone wants something abstract or just from another theme all together. try to stick with it if you can its going to be fun its going to be CREATIVE and well your partner will surely love that. who wouldn't??

Sign ups only four more days so get them in now!! send a pm with name, board name, address and phone number for emergency contact only and your desire if you have one on what you would be able to make or like to make or receive. I will see your partner gets that information. It is YOUR responsibility on the 1st or 2nd to contact your partner then and talk it over with them. It is not ok to disappear. You have to own that you signed up for someone and follow through with your commitment. Not a large commitment but one never the less. Mail on time. be respectful of what you receive. post photos of your mug rug that you receive and thank your partner. fairly simple!

Me, too..
But I figure if I make only what I like, then I may as well keep my own mug rug...lol
I love it that my partner and I talk, and I get something that I know I'll treasure, AND it has a lot of my partner's personality, likes, dislikes in it too. And vice-versa.
A wonderful way to meet people and make new quilty friends..
Regards,
A ffffrrreeeezing,
Kif

Brat, I too am afraid of spiders. but them again, i'm allergic to them I'll stare at them too and hope I can make them disappear from view. Once, I had this big butt old mean spider. he was big. body about 3/4" across. swear to it. really, he put on his extension legs and tried to get to me. I put a bucket over him till someone could get him.

another time, another big butt mean old guy was after me. he was black and had these machine guns on him with rows of bullets. he stood up on his hind legs, and was going to shoot me, swear to it, cross my heart. he was mean and big.He cursed me out in a foreigh language, put his sun glasses back on and was coming after me. scared the be-jeebs outta me. so no spiderssss for me.

I'll take kitties. no complaining here.

I love all the storage/sewing room photos. I have half in my small sewing room and the other half in the front room. My sis lives with me now and she got all my fabric in color order and we have them in storage boxes. At least we can go to a color box. but after that it is in a pile tell next time.

Feel bad for all of you that are getting all that cold and snow. I was in my short sleeve T-shirt today. But the Oregon rain is coming in this weekend.

Vita-Hope things mellow out for you soon.

Thanks Nelco for feeling sorry for us cold bunnies, spent the weekend in Lake George NY with friends, visited the programs that they had for the Winter Festival, car races on the ice, fireworks at night and releasing of the wish lanterns, then bon fires at night toasting marshmallows and hot choc, weather was VERY cold but very relaxing. Ice fishing on Sunday after church was nice and relaxing but didn't catch anything. It was odd to watch people driving on the ice across the Lake and was assured many times that it was very thick, in fact 28' thick can you ever imagine a lake getting that thick.
