i figured a way. i unquilted and put a new backing on. thanks for the suggestion! the space was too large for a patch. i have finished and am ready to send it off to hav4boys. hope she is happy with it.

All of the mini quilts are so nice, and pretty. Each one is different, and beautiful with its creator's imagination.
