Or, instead of having a themed swap, we could focus on a color. Like, please try to send in one green background fabric. I'm having a hard time finding reds and greens these days.

i think I follow you. Another way to do the same thing is to:
1) set out your six sets
2) take one from each pile and place them on top of each other in a uniform square
3) turn the pile to make it a diamond
4) begin again, setting your six as a square on top the previous diamond
5) repeat

This way, all you have to do it pick up six at a time to swap them and we don't use crazy amounts of baggies. But if baggies are truly easier, I'm good with that, too.

Yes this is the idea.

Yes we could do this too. Like for the twist do solids, polka dots, swirls. Something in this manner. See we all have ideas. :)

okay i understand now. thought you meant solids.

frizzymama13 thats really neat. how many of each color did you do? how many total charms for the swap? it would be neat to sew them like you have them too. :)

We swapped 1 yard of fabric, so 56 5" charms. There were 9 different color options people could sign up for and 6 slots for each color (blue and green had 7 spots), which added up to 56. It was neat to see the variation within the colors that people chose. Some colors were harder to find than others, but the end result was so pretty!

Sorry Owlie, I will have to wait till next month to join you again. I really don't have any fabrics at home that fit the theme. But, I will keep an eye here for next months. I am cutting some other things I already have on hand.

That will be wonderful Judith. Remember its anything you would take on a picnic. It can be food, to games, dogs. i think its endless for we all take something different on a picnic.

frizzymama please pm me all the details and will seriously think about this one. i agree the results are beautiful. i think we need it bigger though. i usually use at least 80 charms in a quilt if not more. thanks
