Barbara, that looks great. The mailing date is by Feb. 1 rather than Feb. 11.

Oh, WOW!!! That is stunning. It surpasses all of my expectations. I had to stop and count to see when I get it back! You really nailed my idea of a color scheme. I have to ask, are those buttons in the jars? I tried enlarging but still wasn't sure. I think that looks like chocolate chip cookies on the bottom left and buttons in the others. But I am just not sure.

Thank you so much for all the effort you put into this. I am humbled by your efforts and talent.

Mary

Hi Mary, great to hear from you! You have your hands full but it looks like you're making great progress. Kudos to you for mending...it's on the very, very, very bottom of any "todo" list I'll ever have! Funny...I'll rip and rip if I make a mistake sewing and not think a thing about it but mending is not fun! Thought about doing a BOM...which one did you choose? ?? Great job on the batting! It's hard to throw anything away what with prices skyrocketing but it is liberating to finally pitch those things we keep shoving to the side. Currently working on Jane's 1930's blocks...waiting on fabric...STILL! Really this RRR makes you look at different kinds of quilting I wouldn't have attempted before. After I started looking at the 1930 prints and patterns I fell in love with them! Would you do another RRR?

Wonnie,

LOL...I am not a fan of mending myself. I keep explaining that it is not sewing but they just don't believe me. We farm and raised three sons. It seems that something always needed mending for a long time AND my sons would volunteer me for projects at school. You would not believe the things I have made for our small school. So, a couple of times a year is okay now.

My LQS picks a couple of patterns and does two different BOM. One is always a Moda collection of fabric. The group I am with is the Civil War. I think the fabric is Julie Rothermal but I am not sure. Last year was my first year and I did it because I liked the quilt. They offered it in feed sack (30s repro) fabrics and CW. I did the feed sack but I enjoyed the ladies so much I decided to do it again this year. I am not very excited about the quilt, though.

I can't wait until I get the 30s RR. I love 30s myself and have lots of ideas but want to see what everyone else is doing. I took the BOM and am doing this RR to force myself to try new things. it is easy to do what I have always done. But challenges are good.

You're right about the jars--and I think someone's been sneaking cookies! I explained my choice of blocks/colors in your little book.

You girls are SOOOOO talented!!! Absolutely love what you did Barbara on Mary's row and the way you tied in the colors she chose is perfect!

Sorry about your computer problems Jane...been there, done that x 2 !!!...and currently my monitor has vertical strips of light spaced across the screen which is VERY annoying and Jennie Doan on her tutorials sounds like a frog and all I see are $ signs!!!

Jane...question...you requested a preference of our blocks not being attached and you sent 5 blocks of the same pattern with different color combinations...got to thinking about it and I was wondering if maybe this is what you had in mind...each of us do 5 blocks of the same pattern in different color combos then your final quilt design would be 5 rows of 5 different patterns arranged in whatever manner you found pleasing. Am I anywhere close? I aim to please
:)

Your blocks don't have to necessarily be the same 5 blocks. If you choose to make 5 different blocks that's fine. Or 5 of the same. Whatever suits you. I just made mine the same to get things started. Didn't mean to confuse.

Okay, Barbara. Here's a sneak peak. 'Ocean waves' for your seashore and 'escargot' as a bonus!! Now back to my sewing machine. . . .

Love the batiks, Jane---you did a great job!
My hubby likes escargot--I can't stomach the little suckers though. The snail trail looks difficult and I've never had the nerve to try it. Looks like you've got it mastered. Thanks for your hard work...it looks great!
I'll send Mary's in a couple of weeks.
