My hair is very fine but straight as a board and flops in and on my face when I don't put it on rollers. Then when I take the rollers out, I have to give myself a 'helmet head' or the curl would be gone before I got where I was going! I've been taking medicine for asthma for last 20 years or so and I think the meds and aging thins your hair! That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I have a funny wig story for you all. When I was about 30, I decided I needed a wig so I would look good at work every day without having to hold my arm up and curl my hair or fix it every morning of the week. Well, hubby didn't think a wig was necessary so I bought one anyway--same color as my hair. Wore it home one night and every night before bed I would put it on a wig stand in my closet. (We have his and hers) One night lying in bed, closet door opened, I saw a mouse run across the clothes rod! Eek! First thing I think of is it's a momma looking for something to make a nest with and I thought of my wig instantly being cut up into lil shreds. I jumped out of bed, grabbed the wig and took it over and put it in my bottom dresser drawer. A couple days later my daughter is looking for something and holds up her hand with my wig on it "what's this?" My hubby looked at me with a look that would say "I'd love to put you 6 ft under" and roared at me "you just thought you HAD to have it, didn't you?" and myself just roared right back with a resounding "YES!" and that was that! LOL!

I forgot to mention that not once did he notice when I had the wig or when I had it off. Shows how much attention I received, huh? LOL! Well, I'm still married to the same guy 53 years later and I still the rug out from under him every once in awhile. I'm just not the "obeying" type; in fact, I don't think I let the preacher put that word in the vows!

Bertie, that is a great story!! My DH wouldn't dare tell me I can't have something. LOL Actually, he is more likely to buy some things than I am. We were shopping in a little town on vacation a couple of summers ago. We were in a little shop that sold Pandora bracelets and charms. I was looking and admiring, but I thought they were way to expensive. Well, as we are looking the sales lady is really trying to help me convince DH that I should have one. She even commented something to the effect that she would be there the rest of the day if I were to convince him to buy it for me. Well, I told her, it's not him you need to convince. I didn't buy it. But I did get one for Christmas. I still think it is too much money for them and have actually bought a few of the cheeper beads for it. (don't tell any real Pandora fan, they would be aghast!)
I have soooooo much hair. I have to have it thinned every time I get it cut and that is about every 4 or 5 weeks. The beauticians are always amazed at how thick my hair is. I get a lot of compliments on it, but I cannot take any credit. My hair does what it wants. Won't take a perm, curlers are a joke, it hasn't been brushed in a couple of years, I wash it, dry it, put some gell in so no frizzies, and walk out the door. It does absolutely no good to do anything with it, as it will have it's own way within a couple of hours. That's actually not bad for me, though. I don't have a lot of patience with all that beauty stuff, wash-n-wear for me is good! :D Both DD's and DGD were blessed with the same hair.

Krystyna, we all have those battles to fight ...and girl you are my hero with what you have been through .... just do the chemo thing and and do the dooo rag or a pretty silk scarf .... if its a bunch of hair cut the rest short so it grows out closer to the same length .... when mine started falling out it was longish I got the clippers and cut it really sort ... like wow ..... for the first time in my life I had short hair ....... tee hee hee liked it so much it was so easy to care for I will never let it grow long again ..... won't she give you a twilight sleep or something .... when they put my heart cath in two weeks ago they said "we arent going to put you out we are just going to get you real sleepy" ..... I don't remember a thing except a tube coming out of my chest .... it will be ok friend ...... you will do fine ...we will pray for you as you haved prayed for us ....... hugs ......looking for lables for you .........CQR

Krystyna I got news today from my oncologist here at home and for now the chemo will not drop the hair .... just
make me sensitive to cold .....anything cold ......no ice cream... no cold anything ...... taking me away from my ice cream in the summer is a travisty ..... lol ..... but only two rounds (that will take 2 days to take) 2 weeks apart ....
then we test again and see what happened ...... prayers friends .... I am leaving this one to God like all the rest ....
one side effect I dont like is possiable numbness in the hands and feet ... but we are to watch closely so that dont happen ..... have a good weekend friends and quilties .........

I love ALL the little DQ's coming in! I finished mine and sent it today to Ms Grace. Everyone have a great holiday. Prayers going out to many.

Krystyna, I can so identify with you and especially your mother. I have had so many Mohs surgerys on my face, back, leg and hand that it is becoming a common thing with me. I also have many places that have been scraped or frozen. Many years of not protecting self from the sun, am now paying for it. My body actually looks like a crazy quilt now, but without the pretty colors. Will be thinking of you as you go through the surgery. As for wigs, I am just about to get one myself. My hair has always been thin and fine and is even more so now at the age of 72. I have a swimming pool and spend a lot of time in there and really would rather be doing other fun things and not fixing my hair. I also perspire so heavily in warm weather that no matter how much fussing I do with my hair, it is soaking wet in a few minutes. Aren't I lucky that is my biggest problem. Good luck to all of you who are going through hard times. It will get better. It just has too.
