javin that brought back some memories I'd forgotten about, think my mother had a pink tree too, and it was on this big base that turned round and round in a circle when you turned it on. Then later she bought the tinsel silver colored tree, put it in that base and bought a thing like a light show almost. Made the tree turn red, green. gold, I don't know how many colors. She thought it was great. It was then!!! Just haven't thought about that in a very long time, thanks for recalling my memories to me....

Oh Jaba...the tinsel tree (with flocking mind you) and the color wheel! Now that was Xmas! He he

My Aunt used to have her tree color coordinated one year all the ornaments were blue and silver, next year they were burgundy and hunter green, she stuck to the correct shades too! Every year the colors were different. And the whole house matched! my Uncle was a career navy Officer so Decorating was her enjoyment. I took care of her before she passed away and she told me to go to town! Decorate how ever I saw fit! I had a hard time breaking away from her style in her home, so we just did a tree with Silver and gold and iridescent.

The sweet part of the way she decorated was she would always give the decorations to the local Thrift store to raise money for foster kids Christmas presents. That style looks pretty but my favorite Christmas trees will always be Green with a modge-podge selection of hand made ornaments.

Jaba and Fraew- yes to both of your memories. My Aunts tree was on a rotating thing also, and later she bought the silver tinsel tree and a color wheel. Ahh the good old days. We had a flocked tree with color wheel in the front room, and one year the color wheel got stuck when we were in the kitchen eating supper. The thing caught on fire and it melted the color wheel onto the lamp part and burned some of the tree. I can still smell the burned plastic. :{

I have one of those original Tinsel silver trees, with rotating light that still works. I put glass balls on it. I should put a picture up of it decorated.

You gals are reminding me of my growing up and Christmas and the "tree"! In our home, daddy was super picky about the tree...it had to be perfect and freshly cut and there was no flocking going on in our home (although I was jealous of friends who had flocked trees). Mom put that old fashioned tinsel on it (not the fly away stuff they use now) and we had those big lights that we wouldn't dare use now-a-days that were so bright and beautiful! We also put on those bubble lights and glass ornaments. I have wonderful memories of the tree from my childhood. Thanks for walking down memory lane...it's fun!
I should start receiving more block sets soon...

I have a question about shipping as I am shipping today. Is the 5.30 for the priority mailer including the cost to ship? Or do I include the money for that plus shipping? Thanks.
