Row Robin 2011 - Group 10 "Rows of Friendship"
#12
I am totally open to whatever name you want to use. I just finished up two small snowmen quilts and so now I am going to get going on my own now. I have lots of snowmen fabric, but I am thinking I am going to combine some paper-piecing and some embroidery... or I am going to make it easy and do blocks with snowmen fabric. I just haven't made any final decisions. I will be working on it over the next few weekends so it will be done before January is over.

so, here we all are. i guess i am late to the party. i've been out all day and come home to all this.
thanks misty. an awesome job for the newbie leader. guess we will learn together since i have never done a row robin either.
i have my fabrics and my draft for the row but need to piece it together.
as for a name, i am pretty blank beyond my first option which came from 5 people in group 10 making a whole quilt, thus "half of ten makes a whole". maybe "rows of friendship". if lori peercy is from west iowa we could be the "wild west quilters". or "GT patchwork posse".
miss gigglewings - love your row. i can see you are our overachiever in the group. but, that's ok. i really like overachievers.
look forward to seeing everyones rows.

All the names sound good. It seems that "Rows of Friendship" has the most support, so if it is okay with ya'll, that is what we can go with.
I had planned on starting my row yesterday, but I laid down on the couch at 5PM and my six year old daughter woke me up at 10PM because she wanted to know if I was going to spend the night on the couch or be "more comfortable" on my bed. (I tell her that all the time when she falls asleep on the couch.) My son (8) had already tucked himself into bed. I was so impressed with my kids. They let me sleep for five hours and never once woke me up. They even got themselves some left-overs in the fridge, heated them up, and ate dinner. My son told me this morning they debated having ice cream for dessert, but didn't want to get in trouble without asking and they didn't want to wake me up to ask. Today, they are definitely getting ice cream!
So... now that I am thoroughly caught up on my sleep, I am going to be sewing up a storm this weekend!

misty you have the bestest kids. lucky you. sometimes we need that refreshment time.
ok, group, we need to decide about labels, possible signature blocks, journals, etc. other groups are doing variations of these. in browsing through the other group threads i see some are getting very elaborate and some very simple. what do we want to do?
i, personally, am not a fan of journals but will participate if the group wants to do it.
so far as sig blocks, i would love to have one from each of you and send one to each of you in turn. just something simple that i can attach to the back of my quilt when finished. maybe send one along with each row you finish made from your theme fabric? that would mean we each make 4 sig blocks and put one in the box with the rows as we finish them. sign in fabric ink or other perm ink with your name and board name.
any other ideas?
i haven't even thought about my label yet. how 'bout you?
