I have a 1/2 sheet in my regular sewing room above the ironing board--holds my rulers. And in the basement with the long arm I have another 1/2 sheet and also holds rulers and stencils. Makes it super handy in both rooms. I don't hang thread cones because I have too many and don't want them getting dusty (I'm not as neat as some of you and live on a gravel road so everything is ALWAYS dusty).

This is free standing pb leaning to the wall behind your machines.
I buy 4 -2x2's and 2 pegboards. you can ask home supply to saw a 1/4" slot down each 2x2 for 50 cents a cut. then I encase one pb inside the slots. Leaving
2 long legs of the 2x2's long enough to form "standing legs for your pb.
This will leave room for your hooks or pegs.
Lay it down withe the 2nd pb on top, behind the1st pb in the frame, this is the back side.
Take a dowel stick and stick it through both pb's, you want to angle it so it at a downward angle. Nail in place.
When you flip it over the dowels will be angled up so your thread will not fall off.
You can buy a hand full of 1/4" dowels, ask them to tape them together and cut them in 6 or 8" lengths. when you slide them into both pb's it will stay put.
NO HOOKS NEEDED. THE HOOKS WILL COST MORE THAN THE PB'S.
