Sewing room redo

Each table is 30" x 48". He bought a 1" x 12" x 48" board at home depot. It is mounted under the side aprons of the table with wood screws. The dimensions were perfect for my application. He put the sewing machine on the table where I wanted it an drew a line around it. He cut the hole by drilling a hole in the corner and using a jig saw. He allowed an extra 2 " on the right side or the machine for reaching the cord and other things. My Horizon came with an acrylic table for use when quilting. I had an old foam kitchen mat and we cut that and put it on the shelf under the machine. Brought the machine up to a perfect height and quiets some of the vibrations and noise. The acrylic table sits on the table top and rests on the machine mounts. He doesn't know it yet BUT we forgot to allow for me to access the free arm so we have to cut out a couple more inches.
I had thought about a counter top but wanted more depth. Let me know how yours works out.

What a great set up. I have the Horizon and once our basement is finished I will be trying to do the same as your tables. Thanks for showing.
What did you mean about accessing the free arm?
And thank you for the idea about putting the cut-out back.

If I want to sew a pants leg or something where you need to put something around the free arm. I'll have to lift the macihine out of it's hole and put it on the table.

Sewing Room Re-Do
I wanted to separate my sewing and my computing areas in my room. Previously they shared and L-shaped desk. Also to lower the height of my sewing machine table to ease the strain in my shoulders.
My son suggested we go to IKEA. bought two tables. He and my grandson put the tables together. Then my son cut the hole for my machine in one table; put a shelf under it to hold my sewing machine. He put casters on the other table to raise it for cutting. Now they sit so the cutting table can hold a quilt when it is on the machine. And it can be rolled out for moving around when cutting.
I'm so happy.

I just now read your posting from last year on re-doing your sewing/computer room. I also have my computer & longarm in the same room & 2 years ago my computer died. I was told that the reason it died is because the hard drive was covered in lint from my longarm. I was told that I have to vacuum my hard drive every once in a while to keep it from filling up with lint. Just thought I'd give you a heads up on that so it won't happen to you. Have fun with your new room.
