I sgree with jojo. I will have no reason to go to W-M if they remove the fabric dept. We have a regional grocery chain here, H.E.B., and they carry everything I need except fabric. I mentioned this to the manager of our WM Supercenter, and he basically said, "Oh, Well." Seems his attitude is in keeping with the company...I guess they just don't want my money!

Midland,Tx store #608. They are not taking out the sewing dept. yet, because they put off the remod for a few months, but when i called the 800-# I was told that it is scheduled to be removed, when the remod begins. I used to own stock in the Co., but when I noticed that they were becoming less customer-friendly, I sold high. We used the money to put a big downpayment on our house!

I live in a tri-city area and we have several Walmarts within a 45 minute drive. All of them are super centers but only 2 still have a fabric dept. The WM closest to me has a very busy fabric department. There is always a customer needing fabric cut. Maybe that is why they haven't closed it.
When the Hancock Fabrics were closing all their stores, the store here and in Johnson City didn't close. One of the employees told me that these 2 stores were some of their highest sellers with over a million dollars annually.
This area must have a lot of sewers. You never go into one of the fabric store/departments without it being very busy.
