this took a long time because it seems like everytime i pick up something to sew i am suddenly needed elsewhere.. now it just needs a border and it'll be ready for quilting. i chose the fabrics because i loved each of them and put them into my own personal stash just for my stuff but to be honest i'm not that thrilled with the overall look of it. it'll do though, it's the first thing i've made for myself.

    shows the colours better

Dear Bluekrissy, give yourself three borders, not just one, you can pick up those festive colors that work best in the room where you will use your special quilt; dark turquoise, light aqua, and yellow all say "use me". Or, a rusty red might work well. I could also see a row of those smallest circle-in-a-square, each block cut in half, lined up end to end, and used as a border row, with a narrow border on both sides, all around the quilt. Your colors remind me of "Fiesta" Plates and bowls.

I like the overall look, it is cool, funky and different. It is fun to pick out the fabs you really like in that one. You have some really nice ones in there and they all play together nicely. I am sure once you get it all quilted you will like it more.

PS it reminds me a lot of Kaffe Fasset's stuff. I see you have at least one of his fabrics in there.

It's hideous, I'll take it off your hands. GENIUS use of fabrics here! Fun and fabulous. Very bright and balanced. But since it falls below your standards, you should send it to me. I'm just that nice.

The only fabric in that entire quilt that I could see myself buying would be the teal batik....However, it works fantastically well. I think that once you get the borders on you will love it. If not, you are welcome to send it to me - even if some other people asked first!!
