Thanks for the nice comments. To address a few specific comments, I do find quilting a big piece is faster than quilting individual placemats. I have a Sweet 16 sit down quilter so I have plenty of room. I think this would be pretty easy for a home machine too since the fabric is not much over 20" in width. As for the feather stitch on the binding, it is much more forgiving than a straight stitch<grin>. If you are off a tiny bit, the feather stitch will still catch both sides of the binding. I have been using 2 1/2" binding, but I am going to do a 2 1/4" next time since I have a bit too much on the back side, even with a little more than a 1/4" binging.
