I designed it myself. It's in the hoop getting quilted, I didn't want to machine quilt it, but so far I've done an echo quilting around the lotus flower and doing small swirls behind the fairies hair. Still don't know what I'm going to do for the birds yet.

In the border there will be an interlocked rounded chain.

I can scan in the pattern if anyone wants it, just PM me for it. I have all the pieces for applique.
Beautiful quilt.

So, I missed this thread years ago and thank you laughingquilter for bringing it out of the archives. The quilts are so wonderful.

My avatar isn't a quilt, but my beloved Peacocks.

Default Avatar Quilt

What a great thread, it's been delightful to see all the beautiful quilts that board members have posted. My avatar is a close-up of the quilt I designed for my daughter's first child. I call the quilt, Lil Monkey Face. My daughter wanted a pink and brown quilt with monkeys and she helped pick out some of the fabric. I then drew up the basic monkey blocks and started drawing up different expressions. I added hair bows, bow ties and even big lips and a flower to one monkey just to give them each his/her own personality. My daughter also asked that I put a "Q" on the block for her daughter's name, Quorrah. I also added appliqued flowers to make the quilt girly. I'm working on writing up the pattern for a local quilt shop (who did the beautiful custom machine quilting for me).

Nice work , all of you.
I started this for my nephew in law, but gave him a quicker eagle quilt because he was going blind faster than I could applique the eagle. This will be my DGS's Christmas present this year. He is also very fond of eagles.
