I made a quilt for a friend battling cancer, who had a teenage daughter. The girls father had died several years earlier, so she was losing both parents in a matter of a few years. I made her chemo quilt in a young hip design, with fabric the daughter would love, as I wanted her to have the quilt once her mother passed. The mother loved the beautiful vibrant
colors, as well as the thought I put into it for her daughter to have something she would cherish. The daughter still thanks me for the "beautiful quilt". When she introduces me to her friends, she says this is the lady who made the quilt for my mother that I cherish. That quilt was such a blessing to share with her.

Praying for the best for your friend. I had a long time older dear friend a widower, whose family was once neighbors of ours and we all moved to different parts of town. He was a member of the same church I am. Bill was fighting cancer and getting very low, I knew I just had to make him a quilt. I made him quick twin sized log cabin and when I took it to him he was elated and very touched. I gave him his quilt on a Thursday and he passed away five days later. His daughter-in-law told me later that Bill commented on how he loved the quilt and was curled and wrapped up in his quilt when he died. Really made me happy that I had taken the time to do this small gesture for my dear friend and I think it gave him some small amount of comfort at the end.

There are so many touching stories here - from people who showed their love through their talent as quilt makers. Sending most positive thoughts and hoping that your friends treatments are successful and her battle will be won !!!! She will no doubt feel your love and prayers and encouragement every time she covers up in your quilt.
