I used foam board. I have also used the plastic canvas but I think this is a bit firmer.

I bought us each totes last year that were on sale for $19.99. That I don't mind paying. Don't like paying alot for a fabric purse because they don't last long enough.

I agree. I do my own designs for quilting the bags I make and that makes them more unique. The V.B. bags i brought were just the diamond quilting, very plain.

I like the idea of the foam board. I have been looking for an alternative to the plastic canvas because they don't sell that here. I was playing with the idea of the foam board and not that you said you use it I will try that.
