Default Christmas red...table topper top

Hi Ladies,
The pattern: Cranberry Jam #411 by Perkins. The size is 26" x 26".

This is the table topper I was working on that has Christmas red in it. I decided to just wash all of the fabric. I ran the fabric thru the rinse cycle twice and used color catchers with all of the fabrics.

I haven't backed it yet, but I washed that fabric too.

As far as quilting it I figure I'll stitch in the ditch. I have only used the clear thread for that. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestion on what thread to use?

That's a very cute table topper! You might want to use a medium gray thread or a beige one. You wouldn't want to keep changing threads, and those would blend fairly well. You could use the gray on the outer row and the beige on the center.

Thanks ladies!

The cream in this has faint yellow/gold in it also, although it isn't showing up on the photo.

What a pretty table topper!! Love your beautiful fabrics/colors. Was this a difficult pattern, looks like it might be fairly straight forward.

That's very pretty and colorful. I have been making some table runners that I started before C hristmas and didn't get to finish until now. I had some similar to yours with the cream background and I used cream color thread which looked fine to me. If you get off a stitch it doesn't show up as much as a colored thread would on the cream fabric.

I agree! It's beautiful! I'd try to make my quilting as subtle as possible, I think. Please post again after you're all done.

Thanks ladies~

I probably won't work on putting it together until next weekend. Unless of course the stars and moon align correctly then I'll have time during the week.
