I really like your rooster quilt. I like the idea of incorporating panels and portions of panels into projects. They might be short cuts (I don't regard them as cheaters), they just have a different feel and look in a project. I know your gift will be loved.

Very nice. That is the only type of binding I do on my quilts now. Fast, easy and I think it adds a lot to the overall looks of the quilts. I found I had to play around a little with the size of strips, due to the very thin batting I use because of Florida heat. I use Quilters Dream Request loft. I also played around with the width of the seam where I sewed it to the back. Once I got that the way I wanted, I never looked back! LOL I love your table runner. I'm a fan of Roosters and love the color red. I'm sure your sis will love it.
I just checked out the link and my flange binding has different measurements. My main binding is cut at 1 1/2" and flange 1 3/4". Jenny Doan from MSQC has a good tutorial on flange binding on you tube.
