She has become obsessed, and my new fabric is not safe
it began with the kitty cover... then her own top... a bad haircut caused the theft of pick fabric for head.... and now she had to have new pillows for her new bed...

she took top #2 (the purple) i had started making for this months doll quilt swap (i didnt like it enough to send to another quilter, but she loved it)... along with 3 other fabrics... i cut and pinned, pieced the pink top... she stuffed and closed up... It was precious watching her sewing them up..

I think she is trying to use up all my new fabric :(
tomorrow, we are starting her pink curtains from leftover squares from her quilt top

She is loving it... Im a little leery of her keep taking my fabric
But am enjoying seeing her enthusiasm and determination.. along with some wonderful quality time with her  The others dont seem near as interested

determined to close it up

i took about 30 pictures of her closing them up lol... i couldnt help it

me asking if she made the purple for her sister lol.. answer was "NO!!! its for MY bed" lol

Oh how wonderful. Let her keep going. It is only fabric. They make more everyday. The time you spend with her is priceless and she is the future of our art.

i am very proud of her... shes followed me to the sewing room every time ive gone in this week lol
shes having alot of fun, and im enjoying her company.. enough that the incessant questions dont drive me running from the room lol
she asks ALOT
"why do you keep ironing"
"how do you know where to cut"
"why do you put so many pins in it"

but when the questions change from the learning kind to the "what are you going to us this for?" questions... i know whats coming lol
I have a rule that i wont lie to my girls ( i wont always tell them the whole truth, but i wont lie lol) so when i dont know or havent decided... she wants to decide for me lol

A little while back there was a childs doll quilt swap. Sounds like she is itching to do one of these. I am wondering if someone wants to do another. Might be worth looking into for her.

She's doing a wonderful job! Leave her alone and get you're own stash---sounds to me like she's already got hers! LOL

this might also be a good opportunity to teach her the concept of work in exchange for things wanted. let her also help you with household chores and "pay" her from your stash. ;-)

Ohhh, i like this idea :D ty Patrice
she is already quite helpful, but "extras" are always welcome :D
I did have to show her i had a drawer full of scraps (leftovers.. not so small pieces), and would prefer the rest of the stash only be used for special project..
I may let her use them as "almost free" but earn special project fabrics :D
