Well, I spent this snowy and cold day quilting, and I was able to finish piecing my 10-year-old daughter's top. This queen-size started as a twin, and then my BIL gave her his extra bed so I had to keep adding to it.

The pattern is Eleanor Burn's Lover's Knot, and she like the one I made for our bed but wanted to pick her own colors. I ended up 'fudging' the borders to increase the size. All I can say is I can't wait until this one's done! I really gives me a headache (literally), and the layout caused my eyes to cross. The "Laughing Orange" paint color in her room that she picked out when we built this house was loud enough, now she's got a quilt that's even louder. Certainly wouldn't have been colors I'd pick, but it's her quilt. I added a picture of my quilt to show that colors really can change the feel of a quilt.

I think they both look great! I understand what you mean about how some colors are a bit much to work with. Love the results though. It's really pretty!

Not loud--bright and cheerful! Both tops are beautiful!
