Well, I spent this snowy and cold day quilting, and I was able to finish piecing my 10-year-old daughter's top. This queen-size started as a twin, and then my BIL gave her his extra bed so I had to keep adding to it.

The pattern is Eleanor Burn's Lover's Knot, and she like the one I made for our bed but wanted to pick her own colors. I ended up 'fudging' the borders to increase the size. All I can say is I can't wait until this one's done! I really gives me a headache (literally), and the layout caused my eyes to cross. The "Laughing Orange" paint color in her room that she picked out when we built this house was loud enough, now she's got a quilt that's even louder. Certainly wouldn't have been colors I'd pick, but it's her quilt. I added a picture of my quilt to show that colors really can change the feel of a quilt.

I think they both look great! I understand what you mean about how some colors are a bit much to work with. Love the results though. It's really pretty!

just shows-ta-go-ya. every quilt can be right for everyone. it is all about the fabric choice. so, when you see a quilt you don't like think about how it would look in different fabrics.

very nice job, happy treadler. now you can take a couple of aspirin and rest your eyes. tee-hee

I like both of them. Color choice is such an individual thing. If she loves the quilt, it's perfect. I like it, too.

Wow! Colors sure to make a difference. They don't look like the same pattern. I really like the loud, bold one. Really great for a kid's room.
