On another thread, Fireworkslover mentioned the book "Hooked on Feathers" by Sally Terry, for doing freehand feathers. So I got the book, it arrived Friday, and - after a bit of practice with paper/pencil, & a scrap piece - I got out a runner I had only done STITD on and gave it the treatment!

Thank you Fireworkslover for book tip - I am so pleased with the results!

First is the runner as it was, then as it looks now - I reckon I can charge a bit more now!

As it was STITD

Beautiful! The border ones are so clever! I've been peering to see how you did it without travelling and see that the curved feather forms the shape of the inner one at the same time. You clever stick! Also, I love the look of the motifs within the esxisting SITD squares. I've ordered this book too...!

It's hard to see in the pic, did you quilt on machine or by hand?

Machine (Janome 6600) - I would never have the patience to do that by hand!
