Geishas, fans, and gingko leaves
I found a pattern on Fons and Porter’s web site for a lovely Asian style quilt. I have never been one to follow a pattern exactly but soon after I started this one, I wished I had followed it a little more closely. I ran into problems early on and did a lot of ‘unsewing’. This quilt took much longer to complete than it should have and I’m VERY glad it’s done. I decided that if I am going to ever get good at FMQ on my domestic sewing machine, I’m just going to have to put the pedal to the metal and go to it. Ignore some of the less than perfect stitching and just overwhelm the entire quilt with so many stitches, you won’t notice the ones that went wrong. My little sewing machine performed amazingly throughout all the quilting I did on this one. I just finished giving it a good cleaning and oiling so it’s ready to go back to work tomorrow.

Looks fantastic! Glad you showed a close up of the gingko - from the whole quilt photo I thought they were thread painted. They look fantastic!! The whole quilt looks great. Well done.

beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. You do such an amazing job, with both the piecing and the quilting. And I don't know where you get the ideas you use for the piecing and quilting. I keep telling my bernina what a nice job you do with quilting, trying to impress upon it what to do, but it doesn't seem to get the idea. Maybe operator error. Great Job Dilyn.
