GrammyPatty7's 3rd and last butterfly quilt photos
#1
This is for my youngest granddaughter and she'll get it in Aug. when we go to IL to visit. She's 7 and I've now completed a twin sized quilt for all 7 of my grandchildren. Every one of them came home from the hospital wrapped in a grammy's hand quilted blanky. I've previously posed 2 other butterfly quilts that I've made using the same fabrics. Below is a full shot of the quilt and then a few close ups. It is machine pieced, machine applique and hand quilted. It took me 11 months to complete but it was a fun 11 months. Amanda got to see the first panel of it last summer when we were in IL. I like them to see their quilts in process so they have a bit of an understanding of the time it takes to complete a quilt. You can access my other quilts by clicking on my user name and accessing my previous posts or my bookmarked files as I also have them bookmarked there.

Wow, thank you. You ladies are fast. Replies were coming in as I was uploading the photos. I'm a unique quilter in that I never have a clue what is going to happen. My quilts are truly a happening. I've been collecting these patterns for several years of course none of the sizes are the same but I made them anyway and bordered them out to work. I love this quilt and sure hope that Amanda will as well. I've been lucky that everyone of the grandchildren have loved their quilts so far even though none of them got any say in the colors or design. I don't ask. They just get what happens. The one time I did foolishly ask, I had a huge and frustrating challenge because my creativity seemed to take a long term vacation. Now I don't ask and they just get a hopefully beautiful surprise and luckily, so far it has worked.
Thank you for your kind comments and for taking the time to look.
Hugs
Patty
