I wonder too if the border fabrics were reversed but it looks like the red border has already been sewn on. I do like the pieced blocks in the corners but try the red background one in the corner of the red border... then perhaps a final border with a more saturated color in the background.

I've gotten some great suggestions from ya'll and some of them jive with what I was thinking.
The red is already sewn on but I can remove the corner and put red or green there...I think I have enough.
The floral is already sewn on but only 1 side so I can remove it.
I laid out the floral first (as someone suggested) on the floor, and then the red and did not like it either.
I think the problem is the floral and the corner that is too light for the rest of the quilt.
The green is a Moda so I should be able to find more or something that will blend... the floral is a Robert Kaufman and I already have another plan for it... :)

    Ya live and learn!

I'm gonna sleep on it before I start ripping.

I like the 2nd option with the darker pieced corner in the dark solid inner border. It is mor balanced.

That is what I was thinking too.
I'm keeping with this train of thought. The floral draws the eyes too far outward.
