Me either. Steven picked out the pattern and the red calico... now he telling me how to arrange them on my design wall. This will definately be a Steven Quilt :) Too Fun!

Love the idea of red but like you am concerned about the difference in fabric weight. Have you considered twill? If you use an interfacing or stabilizer for the denim, I would use a medium weight fusible.

Sorry to hear your machine has been in the shop so long - it would probably kill me!

Yep, go for red. When doing my GS quilt I found a red with a pattern like a cowboy bandana. Might look good there if it wouldn't be too busy.
