Default Made for my neighbor

We have a really nice neighbor and she has been going through some hard times lately. I decided to make her a quilt--she said she liked browns and other darker colors.

It is really quite a simple pattern, so it worked up very quickly. It's more or less a controlled scrappy using browns and variations of brown (tans, deep oranges).

I love those tones of color. Very nice pattern and you pieced it beautifully.

It looked difficult to me too until I noticed it is just one block alternated with plain squares!!! JUST my kind of quilt! I definitely will be making this one it has such an intricate-looking design but the one block is kind of a 9-patch variation. Is there a pattern for it? The colors are so rich and warm ..this quilt is great!
