Default My Daughter's First Sewing Project

My 10 year old daughter Olivia just finished her first quilting/sewing project today. A tote bag using the same construction methods as Missouri Star Quilt Company's tutorial on Youtube. "Make Three Totes/Purses With One Charm Pack" with a couple minor cosmetic differences.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7i6Wrl4rZ8

The bag is sitting on our 1948 Singer 66-16 that she used to do most of the sewing, the rest was done on her 1926 Singer 101-4.
I'm very proud of her for the time and effort she put into making the bag. I think it was a fairly advanced project for a 10 year old.
Anyway, here's her new tote bag. She plans to use it for her school books tomorrow.
Thanks for looking,
Rodney

Well done indeed! There is nothing as satisfying as having your first project turn out successfully.

Great job....beautiful fabric and very well done. If this is what is being achieved at 10...goodness, another few years and the sky's the limit.

Very nice and I bet it is a great reward to be able to actually use a project you make when you are only 10 y.o. a beautiful start for a long time hobby

She did a great job on this beautiful bag! She will get lots of compliments at school and be very proud to say 'I made it myself!'.
