I hope everyone is not getting bored looking at this one. (I'm a slow quilter) This is my first time to SID! I'm so excited to finally try it! I did have trouble seeing where to turn thru the needle hole of the walking foot so I had hubby modify it a little and it went better from there. There were a few tension problems too. And of course, I'm showing you the best part ;) So I was thinking I might try a little fmq and make wavy lines in the water part. What do you think? Will it look funny on the back to have every other one with that extra line in it?

Unless you are putting the quilt into a show, no one will see the back of it. When I quilt, it's all about the front. So, I do whatever quilting will make the front look best.

Very nicely done.

It you want FMQ, go for it. It will look fine on the back, too.

Jenell, it looks like you did a really good job with the SID -- both front and back. I don't think it would look strange to do the wavy fmq...but that's just my opinion....I actually think it would look neat.

I finally broke down and bought a SID foot for my machine. I really like it, as the guide keeps me in the ditch. Some people don't like them, but I do.

I like to see the quilting so SID is not somthing I usually do. I say go for the extra stiching.

OBTW you missed a pin there.

I bought this machine on HSN and it came with lots of feet! I have no clue what most of them are! But there is one I think is a SID foot but it's adjustable for echo quilting too. I tried to use that but was afraid that little screw would back itself out and I would be in trouble. Also, some of my seams didn't match up just right so I thought it would send me off in an odd direction. Maybe I can post one foot a week and you can all tell me what they are! LOL

Ducky I tried mine on one of the doll quilts. It is a frustration for me. I like it cause it makes staying in the ditch easier, but I have an Accufeed and I cannot use the SID foot with that. SO I have to choose!!

I think you did a great job. If you want to add some free motion quilting go for it. I think it looks fine the way it is though.
