My Grandmother's Quilt Top
#1
My sister and I found this quilt top at my mom's house and she really wanted me to save it. I posted a little about it here: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-144247-1.htm.
I finally finished quilting it. I really had lots of work to do but I stippled it so that I could "fix" some of the many issues, such as pleats and tucks, stretching fabrics, and loose seams.
After it was finished, my husband realized that some of the fabrics are the ones he salvaged while working at a garment factory (he was head mechanic and fixed sewing machines) so that's how we determined that it's my grandmother's top. She hand stitched the entire top (those stitches look so much like hers) plus we gave her the fabrics he salvaged.
Anyway, here's my finished quilt. I love it now.
Thanks for looking.
