Usually I don't like quilts with a red, white, and blue color scheme, but there's something about this one...I like it!

I love the blue and white. I read somewhere the red represents the chimmney of your log cabin. :D

thanks for all the comments,I had a dream on how to quilt it,but I don't know
I dreamed it was hanging at a quilt show,I was standing back looking at it and in the body of the quilt were the words to the Star Spangled Banner, and around the border were red and white stars
Am I losing my mind? :?

    Are you kidding?!?!?
Some of the most beautiful, creative things (not just quilts, either,) have come due to dreams!

"Dreams are the only thing we have left to hang on in this crazy world"---Blues Davis from the Virtua Fighter anime

If your crazy, then I must be crazy, too. When I was constructing the top for my denim quilt I saw the finished product in a dream (which I cannot describe due to suggestive themes and forum regulations). And with the way I dream (its not unusual for me to have 3 or 4 dreams a night) I'm sure it won't be the last dream I'll have with a quilt I'm working on. So no...you're definatly not going coo-coo-ka-chu in the upstairs area.

Your quilt is beautiful. There is just the right amount of red in it to make that striking but not overpowering. I'm sure no matter how you quilt it, the final product will be something to be proud of.

    Please define: What are shirtings?

shirtings are (chime in if I am not saying this right) the fabrics that were commonly used along time ago to make shirts for the menfolk as in 1800s' 1700s etc. these ones of course are repoductions of those fabrics
