I wouldn't put a heavy machine on it. The old Singers, etc. are just too heavy but the newer machines should be fine. My machine weighs less than 10 lbs. I've got two Brothers I wouldn't dream of putting on it but they weigh about 30-40 lbs. each. I have a sewing cabinet one is in. The other is still in the "portable" case. It just takes two men and a strong boy to lift it. :-)
