I love it! I would "picture frame" the quilt with a samll print or solid dark brown 2" border. Then use your pretty fabric you bought on ebay (3 or 4 inches) and then bind off with the same dark brown fabric you used to picture frame it. Truly a beautiful quilt!

Jade,Your quilt looks terrific. Log Cabins are my favoriet. Not every quilt requires a border. If you are looking to make it larger how about making more log cabin blocks with just your colored fabric? Your white paths would show up and the solid colored blocks would stop the design.

I agree, plain is the way I would go. I think I would use that darkest rose color, then follow that with a nice brown, a darkish tone but not darker than the darkest brown in your piece.

I think you need a framing border to put emphasis on the piecing. Then add the border. Just my opinion.
