I know this pink/rose color does not look good for my third color. I had a brown with music on it and that totally washed out the white. I was thinking maybe something bright or flourescent. This is for my 12 year old grandson, so nothing girly. Maybe a solid color?

I would probably go with the orange in the black fabric.

I also like the idea of the orange.

One of the bright colors in the music note--orange, yellow, green, turquoise.

Honestly I love the quilt  However, a 12 yr. old boy might have a problem with rose. I would show him the quilt and ask him what color for the binding. There is no sense in giving this to him if he thinks the rose is too girly and his mother makes him use it. Please let me know what you decide

I would try and match the green that is in the fabric...not too bright in shade. If not 'loud' it would make the star shine. It is a nice star.

I think the orange and gold in the notes fabric are pretty predominant so I would want to mix in one more color that would stand out against them and I think blue for a boy is pretty predictable so I would use the green. I would also consider some piano keys in one of the borders. Great music quilt! What instrument does he play?
