Default Orange peel quilt

Have you ever had a quilt that took for ever to make? Lol I got a few charm packs at a sewing retreat where I met Jenny Doan from Misouri Star quilt company, I bought her orange peel template ( it works great) so I started this quilt last June, the charm pack is the multi colored in the middle. It seemed to long so I wanted to make it wider. So now for the hunt for more material. I was lucking to find it but only in a fat quarter bundle so I had to buy it, then I ran out of the background cream color so I had to hunt for the same cream color . This quilt took me over 6 months. But I'm very pleased as to how it all turned out.
I quilted it part free motion and templates
it ended up being the size of a twin bed

That's such a pretty quilt. I've always like the orange peel block. I like how you took the sashing all the way out to the ends of the quilt. Beautiful quilting!

Great idea with that sashing....will have to remember that! I'm still, working on one too....not that I've run out of fab or interfacing...just a problem with bl..refuses to sew the blocks together at the bulky part..either jogs to the side making a jag or skips stitches...dealer just shrugs shoulder ....... Am thinking of putting bl in middle of a busy road and watch an 18 wheeler crush it! Then I will finish the orange peels with my older Viking, which sews anything I give it!
