Instead of just doing plain borders on this BOM, I decided to do a pieced border. I think it will make the quilt more interesting. Tell me what you think. There will probably be another plain ending border too This is UFO Day for me with a small group so I am working on this border. What would you put also for the last border?

Quilter7x 05-21-2010 09:14 AM

WOW, the pieced border looks excellent! For borders, I always like a dark border on the very outside edge. Maybe some of the yellow or red as a thin border, then a darker outside border like the brown or red.

It's a gorgeous quilt!!! :D

virtualbernie 05-21-2010 09:15 AM

Don't know what to use for an ending border but I really love the border you're working on now! Your quilt is beautiful!

Fran, that is excellent. Dainty. Adorable. Precious. I really like it.

amma 05-21-2010 09:18 AM

I like it the way you have it laid out, and then another border of the same brown you used in the inner border.
I really like this quilt:D:D:D

clem55 05-21-2010 09:25 AM

I agree with the dark outside...maybe the golden yellow, then red, then a dark brown binding?

bearisgray 05-21-2010 10:48 AM

That is a superlative BOM quilt. The blocks go well together. Like your color choices.

Pam 05-21-2010 10:48 AM

I like the idea of a little more spark of the red, too! The Seminole border is very pretty, one of my favoirite techniques.

I agree and yes that quilt is beautiful.

lyndawn 05-21-2010 03:53 PM

I think I would go with another border the same as the inside border and use the yellow to bind with, but that's just me.
You did a fantastic job! and that pieced border is gorgeous! Love the quilt:)

If just hearing the colors described, I would never have thought they could have made up into something so absolutely beautiful! The border is fabulous and sets it off so perfectly.
